Analysis of the Management and Leadership Style of Executives in a Selected Company

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá stylem řízení a vedení pracovníků ve vybraném podniku, teoretická část práce vychází z odborných publikací a popisuje řízení a vedení a rozdíly mezi nimi. Praktická část práce se zabývá analýzou stylu řízení a vedení pracovníků, a to jak z pohledu vedoucích, tak i z pohledu jejich podřízených. Cílem práce je shrnou teoretické poznatky z oblasti řízení a vedení, a následně tyto teoretické poznatky využít v praktické části bakalářské práce. Pro praktickou část práce byla zvolena kvantitativní analýza, jejíž základem je dotazníkové šetření, otázky a odpovědi byly obsahově stejné pro vedoucí i podřízené. Dotazníky byly analyzované, vyhodnocené a výsledky byly přeneseny do manažerské mřížky a následně popsány. Provedeným výzkumem bylo zjištěno, že všichni vedoucí pracovníci patří do pravého horního kvadrantu manažerské mřížky, tedy praktikují buď demokratický nebo týmový styl vedení, všichni projevili velký zájem o plnění cílů a potřeby lidí a jejich podřízení to vnímají stejně nebo dokonce lépe. Hlavním zjištěním práce je, že zkoumaní vedoucí pracovníci, kteří působí na jednom oddělení, i když na různých stupních řízení, tak styl řízení praktikují všichni podobný, podřízení to vidí stejně a důsledkem toho týmy v oddělení mohou fungovat maximálně efektivně. Největším přínosem práce je praktické využití v podniku, kdy všichni vedoucí pracovníci projevili aktivní zájem se průzkumu účastnit, chtějí zpětnou vazbu, kterou plánují využít ke svému rozvoji.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with the management and leadership style of employees in a selected company, the theoretical part of the thesis is based on professional publications and describes management and leadership and the differences between them. The practical part of the thesis deals with the analysis of the management and leadership style of the managers, both from the perspective of the managers and from the perspective of their subordinates. The aim of the thesis is to summarise the theoretical knowledge in the field of management and leadership, and then to use this theoretical knowledge in the practical part of the bachelor thesis. For the practical part of the thesis, a quantitative analysis was chosen based on a questionnaire survey, the questions and answers were the same in content for both managers and subordinates. The questionnaires were analysed, evaluated and the results were transferred to a managerial grid and then described. The research conducted revealed that all the managers belong to the upper right quadrant of the managerial grid, i.e. they practice either democratic or team leadership style, all of them showed great concern for meeting the goals and needs of the people and their subordinates perceived it equally or even better. The main finding of the thesis is that the managers under study who work in the same department, although at different levels of management, all practice the same management style, subordinates see it the same way and as a result the teams in the department can function as effectively as possible. The biggest benefit of the work is the practical application in the company, where all managers have shown an active interest in participating in the survey, they want feedback which they plan to use for their development.
