The process of social rehabilitation for visually impaired people

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá problematikou prožívání osob s těžkým zrakovým handicapem, vlivem sociální rehabilitace na jejich samostatnost a znovu začlenění do společnosti, a bariérami, se kterými se lidé s těžkým zrakovým handicapem setkávají v každodenním životě. Práce je rozdělena na teoretickou a praktickou část. V teoretické části je vymezena: sociální práce a sociální pracovník, kteří jsou klíčoví pro realizování sociální rehabilitace, díky které se lidé se zrakovým handicapem učí zvládat běžné činnosti beze zraku a získávají zpět svou samostatnost; zrakový handicap; a smysly, pomocí kterých dokáží lidé se zrakovým handicapem žít a fungovat. V praktické části autorka přibližuje výzkumný problém, výzkumné otázky a výzkumný vzorek, který se skládá z respondentů s těžkým zrakovým handicapem. Rozbor rozhovorů, které autorka sesbírala, byl inspirován metodou Zakotvené teorie a ke zpracování údajů autorka využila otevřené a axiální kódování. Cílem diplomové práce bylo zjistit, co prožívají lidé s těžkým zrakovým handicapem, jakým způsobem ovlivnila sociální rehabilitace život zrakově handicapované osoby a jaké omezení a bariéry brání člověku s těžkým zrakovým handicapem v zapojení se do společnosti.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis deals with the issue of the experience of people with a severe visual handicap, the influence of social rehabilitation on their independence and reintegration into society, and the barriers that people with a severe visual handicap encounter in everyday life. The work is divided into a theoretical and a practical part. In the theoretical part is defined: social work and the social worker, which are keys to the implementation of social rehabilitation, thanks to which people with a visual handicap learn to manage normal activities without sight and regain their independence; visual handicap; and the senses with which visually impaired people can live and function even without sight. In the practical part, the author describes the research problem, research questions and the research sample, which consists of respondents with a severe visual handicap. The analysis of the interviews collected by the author was inspired by the Grounded Theory method, and the author used open and axial coding to process the data. The aim of the diploma thesis was to find out what people with a severe visual handicap experience, how social rehabilitation has affected the life of a visually handicapped person, and what restrictions and barriers prevent a person with a severe visual handicap from participating in society.
