Motivation of parents for placing a child in a forest school

Abstract:

Hlavním záměrem této bakalářské práce je zjistit motivaci a důvody rodičů pro umístění svých dětí do lesní mateřské školy. Identifikace motivů pro jejich výběr mateřské školy i důvod, proč dali rodiče přednost lesní mateřské škole před běžným typem. Tato bakalářská práce je rozdělena na dvě části, teoretickou a empirickou. Teoretická část se zabývá vývojem dítěte v předškolním věku a následně pojmem motivace. Dále je zaměřena na alternativní vzdělávání, jeho vznik i vývoj a poté konkrétně na vybrané typy alternativních škol. V neposlední řadě je součástí teoretické části koncepce lesních mateřských škol a spolupráce mateřské školy s rodiči. Empirická část se zabývá především analýzou a vyhodnocením dat získaných kvalitativním výzkumem, konkrétně metodou hloubkových rozhovorů. Cílem je zjištění motivace a důvodů rodičů pro umístění dětí do lesní mateřské školy i skutečnost, zda spolupráce mateřské školy s rodiči funguje lépe v lesní mateřské škole nebo v běžném typu vzdělávání.

Abstract:

The main objective of this bachelor's thesis is to determine the motivation and reasons of parents why they would place their children in a forest kindergarten. The work identifies the intentions of parents for choosing a kindergarten and the justifications why parents would prefer a forest kindergarten before a nursery school of a common type. The thesis is divided into two parts - theoretical and empirical. The theoretical part deals with the development of a child in preschool age and then moves on to the concept of motivation. It also focuses on alternative education, its origin and development, and then specifically on selected types of alternative schools. Last but not least, the theoretical part of the paper also includes the concept of forest kindergartens and the cooperation of the kindergarten with the parents. The empirical part of the thesis deals primarily with the analysis and evaluation of data obtained by qualitative research, in particular the method of in-depth interviews. The aim is to find out the motivation and reasons of parents for placing children in a forest kindergarten as well as to reveal whether the cooperation of the kindergarten with the parents works better in the forest kindergarten or in the common type of education.
