Density, dispersion and habitat preferences of the European beaver (Castor fiber L.) population in the Morava River floodplain between the cities of Otrokovice and Uherské Hradiště.

Abstract:

Tato práce pojednává o rozšíření a populační hustotě bobra evropského v nivě řeky Moravy a jejích vybraných přítocích ve vymezeném území. Kromě toho se v ní vyhodnocuje i struktura kácených dřevin, charakteristika teritorií s ohledem na osídlené vodní toky a plochy a s ohledem na přilehlé okolní biotopy. Dále jsou popsány aktuální a potencionální konflikty činnosti bobra se zájmy člověka. V úvodu práce jsou navrženy a dále vyhodnoceny pracovní hypotézy. Práce je založena na mapování pobytových známek a jejich zaznamenávání do GPS přístroje a jejich následném zpracování v prostředí GIS pro zjištění teritorií jednotlivých bobřích rodin. V práci bylo zjištěno, že na daném území žijí bobři v 17 teritoriích, které jsou nerovnoměrně rozmístěny kolem řeky, a nejvíce osídlují řeku a slepá ramena. Nejvíce teritorií bylo obklopeno ornou půdou a nejčastěji kácená dřevina byla vrba.

Abstract:

These theses deals with the distribution and population densities of the European beaver in the Morava River floodplain and its selected tributaries within a defined territory. In addition, it evaluates the structure of grazing of the trees, characteristics of territories with regard to rivers and areas with respect to the surrounding habitat. In addition, it addresses the actual and potential conflicts with the interests of beaver activity of humans and evaluate work hypotheses. All these works were based on mapping and recording of the fresh beaver footprints and other marks of the settlement mapped by the GPS device and their subsequent processing in a GIS analysis focused on the beaver territory describing. In this work it was found that in the territory beavers live in 17 territories, which are unevenly distributed around the river, and most inhabit the river and oxbow lakes. Most territories were surrounded by arable land and felling of trees was mostly willow.
