Anorganic polutants in the Brno creeks

Abstract:

This thesis is focused on documentation and better understanding of levels of creeks' contamination on southern border of Brno agglomeration. Thesis is dealing with a pollutants, their consecutive analysis and evaluation. The thesis summarizes the theoretical knowledge of geology and hydrogeology of studied area. The practical part describes forms of processing with collected sediments and their consecutive analysis. The direct attention in evaluating is focused on potentially dangerous anorganic contaminant as lead, zinc, chrome, copper and arsenic. Results of analysis point at high level of contamination at Ivanovický potok in industrial area Brno - Slatina and slightly increased level of contamination at Černovický potok. The results of RFA and TOC analyzes were examined and outputs were modified into the form of graphs and tables. The results yielded an overview of the current state of creeks' contamination in area and the possibility of their further use.

Abstract:

Cílem bakalářské práce bylo zdokumentování úrovně znečištění potoků na jižním okrají brněnské aglomerace. Pojednává především o polutantech, jejich následní analýze a vyhodnocení. V práci jsou shrnuty teoretické poznatky o geologii a hydrogeologii této oblasti. V praktické části je popsaný odběr vzorků říčních sedimentů, u kterých byl stanoven obsah organického uhlíku a obsah vybraných prvků rentgen-fluorescenční metodou RFA. Hlavní pozornost při vyhodnocování byla zaměřena na potenciálně nebezpečné anorganické kontaminanty, tzn. Pb, Zn, Cr, Cu, As. Výsledky analýz poukazují na znečištění toku Ivanovického potoku anorganickými polutanty v průmyslné oblasti Brno – Slatina a mírně zvýšené hodnoty kontaminace u vzorku z Černovického potoku. Výsledky byly zpracovány do tabulek a grafů pro porovnání úrovně kontaminace v oblasti toků a mohou posloužit pro další použití.
