Environmental Aspects of Tourism Development

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis focuses on ecological hotels in selected countries - the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Denmark. The main objective of the work is to monitor the conditions for obtaining environmental certification and to monitor awareness and interest in green hotels in selected countries. The thesis consists of three parts: theoretical-methodological, analytical part and suggestions. The first part, based on the analysis of available secondary sources, is aimed at defining the basic terminology used in this work, at the impact of tourism on the environment, at sustainable tourism, environmental approaches in hotel industry and at environmental certification of hotels. The second part of the bachelor thesis deals with the monitoring of the current situation in the field of green hotels in selected countries regarding their number, prices and conditions of obtaining ecological certification. The analytical part also includes analysis of a questionnaire aimed at monitoring awareness and interest in green hotels in selected countries. The third part deals with the problems arising from the analytical part of the thesis and gives suggestions for solutions.

Abstract:

Bakalárska práca sa zameriava na problematiku ekologických hotelov vo vybraných krajinách a to Česká republika, Slovensko a Dánsko. Hlavným cieľom práce je monitoring podmienok získania ekologickej certifikácie a monitoring povedomia a záujmu o ekologické hotely vo vybraných krajinách. Bakalárska práca je zložená z troch častí: teoreticko-metodologickej, analytickej a návrhovej. Prvá časť vychádzajúca z analýzy dostupných sekundárnych zdrojov je zameraná na definovanie základnej terminológie využívanej v tejto práci, na vplyv cestovného ruchu na životné prostredie, na udržateľný cestovný ruch, ekologické prístupy v hotelierstve a na ekologické certifikácie hotelov. Druhá časť bakalárskej práce sa venuje monitoringu súčasnej situácie v oblasti ekologických hotelov vo vybraných krajinách týkajúc sa ich počtu, ceny i podmienok získania ekologickej certifikácie. Analytická časť ďalej obsahuje analýzu dotazníkového šetrenia zameraného na monitoring povedomia a záujmu o ekologické hotely vo vybraných krajinách. Tretia časť sa zaoberá zistenými problémami vyplývajúcimi z analytickej časti práce a naznačuje návrhy na ich riešenie.
