This thesis focuses on the competition of start and begin in British and American English, more specifically the frequency of the infinitive and -ing forms after these verbs. The aim of this thesis is quantitative analyses of the corpus data with emphasis on the difference between British and American EnglishAbstract:
Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá infinitivem a -ing formou v doplnění fázových sloves, start a begin. Cílem práce je kvantitativní analýza korpusových dat s důrazem na rozdíly v britské a americké angličtině
