Abstract:

Linguistic specifics of sports news, illustrated using examples from of biathlon The aim of this diploma thesis is to analyse the language of sports articles out of the selected newspaper of German speaking countries. This analysis should help to answer the following questions: - Which linguistic characteristics are typical for sports news? - To which extent are these linguistic specifics used to awaken the readers´ attention? - How the use of these linguistic means differs in dissimilar types of texts and which differences can be found, if we compare serious and tabloid press? In theoretical part of this thesis, mass media will be characterized and the relationship between mass media and sport will be defined. Moreover, the features of media texts will be described from a lexical, stylistic and syntactic perspective. In empirical part, an analysis of the eight selected articles from German, Austrian and Swiss newspapers will be carried out. The third and final part of this thesis will be focused on the analysis evaluation. The evaluation results show that lots of linguistic specifics in sports news are used to attract the readers´ attention. It is also stated that these specifics are more frequently used in the types of texts known as a reportage or a live-ticker. However, a reader mostly finds them in tabloid press.

Abstract:

Jazyková specifika sportovního zpravodajství na příkladu sportovního odvětví biatlonu. Cílem této diplomové práce je analýza jazyka sportovních článků z vybraných novin německy mluvících zemí. Tato analýza by měla pomoci zodpovědět následující otázky: - Jaká jazyková specifika jsou typická pro sportovní zpravodajství? - Do jaké míry jsou tyto jazykové zvláštnosti používány, aby upoutaly čtenáře? - Jak se liší použití těchto jazykových prostředků v různých typech textů a jaké rozdíly lze najít, pokud srovnáme seriózní a bulvární noviny? V teoretické části této práce budou charakterizována masmédia a bude definován jejich vztah ke sportu. Navíc budou popsány znaky mediálních textů z lexikální, stylistické a syntaktické roviny. V empirické části bude provedena analýza osmi vybraných článků z německých, rakouských a švýcarských novin. Třetí a zároveň závěrečná část bude zaměřena na zhodnocení analyzovaných textů. Z výsledků vyplývá, že ve sportovním zpravodajství je hojně používáno velké množství jazykových prostředků pro upoutání pozornosti čtenáře. Také je stanoveno, že tyto prostředky jsou více zastoupeny v typech textů jako reportáž nebo live-ticker. Nejvíce se s nimi však čtenář setkává v bulvárních novinách.
