Young People´s Exodus from the Countryside and Ways to Stabilize the Situation

Abstract:

Hlavním cílem bakalářské práce je pomocí řízeného polostrukturovaného rozhovoru zjistit důvody odchodu mladých lidí z venkova. Dílčími cíli je charakterizovat venkov a město z hlediska jejich objektivních i subjektivních charakteristik, a na základě výsledků rozhovorů navrhnout možná řešení, jak mladou generaci udržet právě na venkově, a tím stabilizovat situaci. Těmto cílům odpovídá také rozdělení práce do dvou částí, tedy do části teoretické a analytické. Teoretická část je zaměřena na charakteristiku obou oblastí společenského života s důrazem na jejich vzájemné odlišnosti. Dále jsou v práci představeny důsledky stěhování mladých lidí do měst jak z pohledu venkova, tak i města. V rámci analytické části byly zjištěny konkrétní důvody odchodu mladých lidí z venkova a byly nastíněny možné podoby řešení situací, které mohou pomoci venkovským obcím udržet si mladou populaci.

Abstract:

The primary aim of this bachelor thesis is to investigate the reasons for which young people leave the countryside for cities, using semi-structured guided interviews. Its secondary goals are to provide objective and subjective characterization of "countryside" and "city" and, based on interview findings, to propose initiatives that would enable young people to remain in rural areas. The thesis consists of a theoretical and an empirical section. The theoretical section describes social life in the countryside and in the city, mainly as regards differences between the two, as well as the impact of youth migration on both the countryside and the city. The empirical section collects respondents' reasons for leaving rural areas and suggests initiatives to make the countryside a more attractive option.
