Sulfát redukující bakterie se vyskytují v různých biotopech: jak ve vnějším prostředí, tak ve střevě člověka a zvířat. Tato skupina mikroorganismů je nejčastěji izolována při zánětech tlustého střeva. Konečným produktem jejich metabolismu je sirovodík, produkovaný v procesu disimilační redukce sulfátu. Abstract:
Sulphate-reducing bacteria are to be found in various biotopes; in external environment and also in intestine of human and animals. This group of microorganisms is most frequently isolated from individuals with inflammation of large intestine.
