Nurses knowledge of methods for monitoring cardiac output

Abstract:

V diplomové práci se zabývám znalostmi všeobecných sester pracujících na odděleních intenzivní péče (JIP, ARO) o metodách monitorace srdečního výdeje. V teoretické části objasňuji pojem hemodynamický monitoring, definuji srdeční výdej a popisuji faktory, které ho určují i specifické stavy, které ovlivňují jeho velikost. Dále uvádím význam znalosti velikosti srdečního výdeje a nejčastější indikace k zahájení jeho sledování. Podrobněji se pak věnuji jednotlivým metodám monitorace, uvádím jejich fyzikální principy, míru invazivity a specifika pro praktické použití. V poslední kapitole přibližuji úlohu sester a ošetřovatelskou péči o pacienty s hemodynamickým monitoringem. V empirické části analyzuji výsledky dotazníkového šetření realizovaného u sester pracujících na odděleních, kde je hemodynamický monitoring prováděn. Zaměřuji se na úroveň jejich znalostí.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis deals with the knowledge of nurses working in intensive care (ICU, anesthesiology and resuscitation department) about methods of monitoring cardiac output. In the theoretical part I explain the concept of hemodynamic monitoring, cardiac output, define and describe the factors that determine them and the specific conditions that affect their size. Furthermore, I present knowledge of the importance of the size of the cardiac output and the most frequent indication to start watching it. For more details, I deal with the different methods of monitoring, I mention their physical principles, the degree of invasiveness and specificity of practical use. In the last chapter I describe the role of nurses and nursing care of patients with hemodynamic monitoring. In the empirical part I analyze the results of a survey involving the nurses working in departments where hemodynamic monitoring is carried out. I focus on the level of their knowledge.
