Abstract:
This thesis deals with the most frequent common attributes of characters that appear in Edgar Allan Poe´s short stories. It analyzes three basic elements, namely the destroying desire, the inner fight of a soul and a diseased soul. It is also focused on their initiators. Tato práce se zabývá nejčastějšími společnými charakterovými vlastnostmi postav objevujících se v povídkách Edgara Allana Poa. Analyzuje tři základní elementy, jmenovitě zničující touhu, vnitřní souboj duše a nemocnou duši. Rovněž se zabývá jejich příčinami.
