Abstract:

Zkoumanou problematikou této diplomové práce je vztah participantů s diagnostikovanou paranoidní schizofrenií k tělesnému pohybu. Současné vědecké studie ukazují, že pohyb je pro schizofrenní pacienty přínosný po stránce fyzické i duševní a že mají tito pacienti s pohybem obtíže. Výzkumným problémem diplomové práce je to, jak participanti s diagnostikovanou paranoidní schizofrenií o svém vlastním pohybu uvažují. Vzhledem k povaze předmětu výzkumu je volen kvalitativní přístup. Výzkum je proveden na souboru vybraném prostým záměrným výběrem pro případovou studii jakožto typ výzkumného plánu. Data byla získána metodou polostrukturovaných ohniskových skupin a analyzována interpretativní fenomenologickou analýzou (IPA). Diplomová práce odpovídá na tři základní výzkumné otázky: Jaké zkušenosti mají participanti s diagnostikovanou paranoidní schizofrenií s vlastním tělesným pohybem po nástupu nemoci? Jaké významy připisují participanti s diagnostikovanou paranoidní schizofrenií vlastnímu tělesnému pohybu? Jak participanti s diagnostikovanou paranoidní schizofrenií uvažují o tělesných aktivitách (např. sportovních)? Výsledky výzkumu představují témata, ze kterých se vynořují jednak bariéry bránící schizofrenním jedincům v pohybu, jednak významy, které připisují vlastnímu tělesnému pohybu i svému tělu. Studie ale především přináší návrhy, jak pacientům s diagnostikovanou paranoidní schizofrenií pohybové aktivity zprostředkovat.

Abstract:

The investigated problem of this thesis is the relationship between participants with diagnosed paranoid schizophrenia and their physical movement. Recent scientific studies show that the movement is beneficial considering physical and psychical aspects and the difficulties of patients with such movement. The research problem of the thesis is how the participants with diagnosed paranoid schizophrenia think about their own physical movement. Considering the nature of the research problem, the qualitative approach is utilized. A chosen research plan is a case study performed on the ensemble selected using purposive sampling design. Data acquired using focus group method has been analysed utilizing interpretative phenomenological analysis (IPA). This thesis answers three elemental research questions: What experiences do the participants with diagnosed paranoid schizophrenia have with their own physical movement after the disease onset? What meanings do the participants with diagnosed paranoid schizophrenia assign to their own physical movement? What considerations do the participants with diagnosed paranoid schizophrenia have in connection with physical activities (e.g., sports)? The results of the research represents themes from which barriers restricting the movement of the schizophrenic individuals are emerging and also meanings which patients attribute to their own physical movement and their body. This study primarily presents suggestions how to mediate the movement activities to patients with diagnosed paranoid schizophrenia.
