Possibilities of occupational therapy for fracture of ankle joint

Abstract:

Cílem práce bylo zjistit, jaké jsou ergoterapeutické možnosti u zlomeniny hlezenního kloubu pro zlepšení soběstačnosti v běžném denním životě. Práce je rozvržena na tři části. V první části se věnuji přímo této konkrétní zlomenině zaměřenou na její etiologii, mechanismus úrazu u dospělých, druhy zlomenin, které mohou vzniknout. Dále terapií zlomeniny, rizikovými faktory a v neposlední řadě ortotikou. V druhé se zabývám problematikou managmentem péče u seniorů a diabetiků. Třetí část obsahuje možnosti ergoterapie v traumatologii léčby zlomeniny zahrnující období před i po imobilizaci. Praktická část představuje zhodnocení vykonaných terapií u pacienta po zlomenině hlezenního kloubu, který byl touto zlomeninou postižen. Přínosem této práce bude brožura s edukativním materiálem pro cvičení a režimová opatření v domácím prostředí.

Abstract:

The aim of the study was to investigate what are the occupational therapy options for ankle fractures to improve self-sufficiency in daily life. The thesis is divided into three parts. The first part deals directly with this particular fracture focusing on its aetiology, mechanism of injury in adults, types of fractures that can occur. Next, the therapy of the fracture, risk factors and last but not least orthotics. In the second, I address the management of care in the elderly and diabetic patients. The third part includes occupational therapy options in trauma fracture management covering the period before and after immobilization. The practical part presents the evaluation of the therapies performed in a patient who was affected by a fracture of the ankle joint. The contribution of this work will be a brochure with educational material for exercise and regimen measures in the home environment.
