Mutual context of Visual perception test and attention ability concentration of 9th elementary school pupils

Abstract:

Diplomová práce je zaměřena na prozkoumávání vzájemných souvislostí výsledků žáků běžných a dyslektických 9. tříd základních škol v Testu zrakového vnímání s jejich úrovní schopnosti koncentrace pozornosti. Cílem práce je vytvořit normy tohoto testu, které budou mít využití v praxi při diferenciální diagnostice dyslexie žáků staršího školního věku. Teoretická část práce se zabývá příčinami, symptomy a diagnostikou dyslexie, dále vhodným přístupem k dětem s dyslexií, projevy této poruchy u žáků na 2. stupni základních škol a její prognózou. Věnuje se také popisu testové baterie Diagnostika specifických poruch učení u adolescentů a dospělých osob, z níž pochází Test zrakového vnímání. Empirická část je zaměřena na zjištění úrovně zrakového vnímání žáků 9. tříd ZŠ pomocí Testu zrakového vnímání. Výkon žáků v testu je porovnán i s jejich schopností soustředění pomocí Testu koncentrace pozornosti. Mezi výsledky žáků v obou testech byl prokázán středně těsný vztah. Ve výkonech byly zjištěny také významné mezipohlavní rozdíly, a to ve prospěch zkoumaných dívek.

Abstract:

The Diploma thesis is focused on exploration of mutual context of results of non-dyslectic and dyslectic pupils of 9th elementary school classes in Visual perception test with their level of concentration of attention ability. The goal of the thesis is to create norms of this test which would be used in practical in differential diagnostics of older school ages pupils with dyslexia. Theoretical part of the thesis deals with causes, symptoms, dyslexia diagnostics, appropriate approach to children with dyslexia, expressions of this disability of pupils of 2nd elementary school grade and its prognosis. It also takes up the description of the test battery Diagnosis of specific learning disabilities of adolescents and adults from which comes the Visual perception test. Empirical part is focused on detection of the level of visual perception of 9th elementary school pupils using Visual perception test. Tests performance of pupils is compared to their concentration ability using Concentration of attention test. There has been demonstrated a medium close relation between the results of both pupils tests. There have been also discovered significant differences between genders in benefit of examined girls.
