Younger school children in a digital world

Abstract:

Diplomová práce „Děti mladšího školního věku v digitálním světě“ se zabývá používáním moderních technologií dětmi mladšího školního věku a možnými dopady na jejich zdraví. Cílem práce je získat aktuální informace o tom, kolik času děti mladšího školního věku tráví na digitálních zařízeních a čemu konkrétně se při používání těchto zařízení věnují. Teoretická část popisuje vývojové období dítěte mladšího školního věku a také faktory, které na děti působí a ovlivňují je v souvislosti s používáním digitálních technologií. Dále upozorňuje na možná rizika, která mohou mít vliv na jejich fyzické a psychické zdraví. Praktická část práce přináší výsledky kvantitativního výzkumu, který byl realizován mezi dětmi 4. a 5. ročníků a učiteli základních škol. Součástí práce je také doporučení pro školy a pedagogy, které může sloužit jako motivace pro jejich budoucí pedagogickou praxi.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis "Younger school children in a digital world" deals with the use of modern technologies by children of younger school age and possible impacts on their health. The aim of this work is to obtain up-to-date information on how much time younger school-age children spend on digital devices and what they do when using these devices. The theoretical part describes the developmental period of a child of younger school age and also the factors that affect children and influence them in connection with the use of digital technologies. It also draws attention to possible risks that may affect their physical and mental health. The practical part of the work brings the results of quantitative research, which was conducted among children in 4th and 5th grade and primary school teachers. Part of the work is also a recommendation for schools and teachers, which can serve as motivation for their future pedagogical practice.
