Operational controllership - the function and the organizational position in an enterprise

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce je zaměřena na úlohy operativního controllingu a na nástroje pro jejich řešení. V návaznosti na tyto úlohy vymezuje pracovní náplň činnosti controllera, jeho pravomoci a zodpovědnost. Teoretická část práce uvádí pojetí controllingu podle odborné literatury. V praktické části je popsáno fungování controllingu v hospodářské praxi ve spolupracujícím podniku. Názor vrcholových manažerů spolupracujícího podniku na funkci controllingu je doložen výsledky dotazníkového šetření. Na jejich základě jsou v závěru práce předkládány návrhy na možné budoucí zefektivnění funkcí controllingu v tomto podniku. V práci jsou využívány obecně vědní metody analýzy a syntézy, teoretické poznatky z oblasti controllingu a pro zachycení praktických souvislostí strukturované rozhovory především s podnikovým controllerem a finančním ředitelem. Velký objem informací byl získán rovněž analýzou vnitropodnikových dokumentů, směrnic a účetních dat.

Abstract:

The thesis focuses on the problems of operational controllership and the instruments for their solution. In connection with these problems the thesis also defines the role of the controller, in particular his authorities and responsibilities. The theoretical part of the work looks at the academic conception of controlleship. The practical part describes the functioning of controllership in economic practice. It also includes views of the top managers of the company which was asked for co-operation. The views presented are supported by the results of the questionnaire. Taking into account the results of the questionnaire the work suggests how to improve controllership in the company in the future. The work uses general scientific methods of analysis and synthesis and theoretical pieces of knowledge from the field of controllership. The work also includes structured questionnaires that were given to the company’s controller and the financial manager. A large amount of data was also obtained by means of analysis of the company’s internal documents, rules and accounting data.
