Abstract:

The purpose of my bachelor work is to clarify the question of tasks and the position of The International Monetary Fund. In the first chapter I describe the establishment of this international institution and also the establishing arrangement of the IMF. In the second chapter I pursue the IMF: its organizational structure, as well as tasks that it tries to meet, and the main aims and tools of its fulfilment. I also pursue the question of the membership in the IMF and financial sources of the IMF. In the third chapter I deal with the question of loans. I describe the individual credit facilities and instruments. I introduce mainly the information about which countries draw, have drawn or have the right to draw sources from these facilities and instruments. At the end of the chapter I describe two selected countries – Hungary and Island, which were provided with an IMF financial assistance in order to overcome the current financial crisis.

Abstract:

Cieľom mojej bakalárskej práce je priblížiť problematiku úloh a postavenia medzinárodného menového fondu. V prvej kapitole opisujem vznik tejto medzinárodnej inštitúcie a tiež zakladajúcu zmluvu o MMF. V druhej kapitole sa venujem konkrétne MMF a to jeho organizačnej štruktúre, úlohám, ktoré sa snaží plniť, hlavným cieľom a nástrojom ich dosahovania, venujem sa tiež otázke členstva v MMF a finančným zdrojom MMF. V tretej kapitole sa zaoberám otázkou úverov. Opisujem tu jednotlivé úverové facility a inštrumenty a hlavne, ktoré krajiny v súčasnosti čerpajú, príp. čerpali prostriedky z týchto facilít a inštrumentov. V závere tejto kapitoly opisujem vybrané krajiny, ktorým MMF poskytol finančnú pomoc na prekonanie súčasnej finančnej krízy.
