Theatre as an Instrument for Social Change

Abstract:

Výzkum této diplomové práce je zaměřen na divácké prožívání, smýšlení a diváckou reflexi zhlédnutých divadelních inscenací. Cílem diplomové práce je zmapovat, jaká témata vybrané inscenace přináší, jakým způsobem o nich k divákům promlouvá a jak diváci jednotlivé prostředky a myšlenky divadelních tvůrců následně zpracovávají ve svém prožívání, ve svých postojích a vztahování se ke světu. Ve výzkumu byly zahrnuty inscenace tří různých divadelních scén, které se tematicky zaměřují na otázky a problémy široké veřejnosti. Témata jsou zobrazována na vzorku více sociálních skupin, nebo jejich zástupců, čímž jsou v inscenacích demonstrovány rozmanité postoje a hodnoty přítomné ve společnosti. Výzkum probíhal prostřednictvím polostrukturovaných rozhovorů s diváky různých věkových kategorií, po zhlédnutí inscenace.

Abstract:

The research of this thesis is focused on the audience's experience, thoughts, and reflections on the observed theatrical performances. The aim of the thesis is to map out the topics that the selected performances bring forth, the way they communicate these topics to the audience, and how the spectators subsequently process the methods and ideas of the theatrical creators in their experiences, attitudes, and connections to the world. The research included performances from three different theatrical scenes, which are thematically oriented towards questions and issues relevant to the general public. The subjects are depicted within a sample of various social groups or their representatives, thereby showcasing diverse perspectives and values present within society. The research was conducted through semi-structured interviews with spectators of different age groups, after viewing the performances.
