The Suez Canal and international politics - didactic application

Abstract:

Má diplomová práce se skládá ze dvou základní částí, politicko-geografické a didaktické. První část se zaměřuje na Suezský průplav z hlediska mezinárodní politiky. Mapuji budování průplavu a jeho histori od 19. stol. přes arabsko-izraelské konflikty (suezská krize, šestidenní válka, vyčerpávací válka, válka Jom Kipur), až po ropné šoky a celosvětovou ekonomickou krizi. Druhá část práce je rozdělena na dva segmenty. V první jsou popsány vyučovací metody, druhý segment je věnovaný návrhům konkrétních vyučovacích hodin, jejichž témata jsou převzata z politicko-geografické části práce.

Abstract:

My thesis consists of two main parts: political-geographical part and didactic part. The first part focuses on the Suez Canal in the view of international politics. The work deals with plans for building the Suez Canal across the history followed by its realization, as well as the description of the political background in the late 19th century.This work describes these important periods: The First and The Second World War, Suez Crisis in the light of Nasser's policy, Six-Day War, War of Attrition and Yom Kippur War. It also partially describes current situation of Suez Canal (modern piracy, oil shocks, global economic crisis).The second part of this thesis consists of two segments. Firstly I describe some teaching methods (for example classical methods, word methods, etc.), in the second part I present six specific lessons.The didactic application refers to certain phenomena from the first part of my work which makes the work more linked and complex.
