Fibroblastové růstové faktory jsou důležité signální molekuly embryonálního vývoje plic. Hrají klíčovou roli především v buněčné diferenciaci, proliferaci, větvení dýchacích cest a vaskulogenezi. Diferenciace plicních progenitorů do epiteliálních buněk plic poskytuje model pro výzkum plicního vývoje a regenerace plic. Může být také zdrojem buněk použitelných ve tkáňovém inženýrství. Abstract:
Fibroblast growth factors are important signalling molecules during embryonic development of the lungs. They play a key role in cell differentiation, proliferation, branching morphogenesis and vasculogenesis. Differentiation of lung progenitors into lung epithelial cells can provide a model for lung developmental or regeneration studies. It can be also a source of cells for tissue engineering.
