Abstract:

Tato práce se zabývá možností třetí strany ovlivnit důvěru neverifikovatelnými zprávami, v závislosti na její informovanosti a motivech. Byl navržen a proveden incentivizovaný laboratorní experiment založený na trust game, jež byla rozšířena o třetího hráče. S použitím tobit modelů ukážeme, že poskytnutí informací zlovolné třetí straně podkopává důvěru, a že přítomnost benevolentní informované třetí stany podporuje důvěru více než přítomnost zlovolné. Dále zjišťujeme, že lidé berou v potaz informace i z neinformovaných nebo zaujatých zdrojů.

Abstract:

This thesis is concerned with a third party's ability to affect trust with unverifiable messages, in regard to its informedness and motives. An incentivized laboratory experiment based on the trust game, which was extended to include a third player, was devised and carried out. Using tobit models, we show that providing information to a malicious third party undermines trust and that the presence of a benevolent informed third party supports trust more than the presence of a malicious third party. Furthermore, we find that people take into account information even from uninformed or biased sources.
