Floods in the drainage area of river Opava

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zaměřuje na povodně v povodí řeky Opavy. Je rozdělena na dvě části ? teoretickou a praktickou. Teoretická část se zabývá vybranými fyzickogeografickými charakteristikami povodí Opavy. Také charakterizuje povodí Odry, do kterého řeka Opava náleží. Podává informace o průběhu povodní a zařazuje je do historického kontextu. Zabývá se podrobnější analýzou povodní v roce 1997, neboť tyto povodně jsou charakteristické svou extremitou. Také zjišťuje, jaká protipovodňová opatření byla v povodí řeky Opavy, především na jejím dolním toku, provedena. Praktická část je zaměřena na terénní průzkum a fotodokumentaci oblasti 10,79 ? 22,53 ř.km. Tato část zkoumá, zda všechny uvedené informace v teoretické části odpovídají skutečné realitě. V závěru je zhodnocení celé bakalářské práce, zda byly splněny její cíle a potvrzeny hypotézy.

Abstract:

The thesis focuses on the floods in the drainage area of the river Opava. It is divided into two parts ? theoretical and practical. The theoretical part describes selected physical geographical features of the drainage area of the river Opava. It also characterises the drainage area of the river Odra, because the river Opava belongs into this drainage area. It gives the information about the floods and it sets them into the historical context. This part focuses on the more detailed analysis of the floods during the 1997, because these floods are characterised by their extremity. This part of thesis also discusses which steps were done to protect the drainage area of the river Opava against next floods, especially at its downstream. Practical part consists of two parts ? the terrain mapping and photo documentation of the chosen area 10,79 ? 22,53 r.km. Practical part tries to find out if the information given in the theoretical part is true and if it corresponds to the reality. At the end there is a summary of the whole bachelor thesis. It discusses if the aims of the thesis were done and if the hypotheses were confirmed.
