Anotácia:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá tématem konceptů spravelnosti ve vybraných dílech Agathy Christie, Margery Allingham, P. D. James a Frances Fyfield. Pro účely této práce bylo vybráno šest děl, a to Nemesis, Curtain: Poirot's Last Case a Murder on the Orient Express od Christie, Flowers for the Judge od Alligham, An Unsuitable Job for a Woman od P. D. James a A Clear Conscience od Fyfield. Práce je členěna na úvod, tři kapitoly a závěr, kdy v úvodu jsou stanoveny její cíle, v první kapitole jsou informace o žánru detektivky a o královnách zločinu, jako i o dvou vlnách detektivky a rozdílech mezi detektivní příběhem a kriminálním románem. Druhá kapitola má název "What is Justice?" a podává informace o různých teoriích spravedlnosti a rovněž i definice termínu spravedlnost. Hlavní část práce je obsažena ve třetí kapitole. Ta je rozdělena na dvě podkapitoly, a to morální spravedlnost v Nemesis, Curtain: Poirot's Last Case a An Unsuitable job for a Woman a druhá podkapitola se zabývá morální spravedlností v Murder on the Orient Express, Flowers for the Judge a A Clear Conscience. V závěru jsou pak demonstrovány jednotlivé specifické případy prokazující, že ve zmíněných dílech se vyskytují dva koncepty spravedlnosti, a to legální, nebo právní a morální.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis explores the topic of different concepts of justice in the selected works by Christie, Allingham, P. D. James and Fyfield. In the thesis, there are six works discussed: Christie's Nemesis, Murder on the Orient Express and Curtain: Poirot's Last Case, Allingham's Flowers for the Judge, James's An Unsuitable Job for a Woman and Fyfield's A Clear Conscience. The work is divided into an introduction, three chapters and a conclusion. The first chapter deals with the issue of the emergence of the genre of detective fiction and provides brief background information on the genre and the Queens of Crime. The second chapter is called "What is justice?" and gives information on different theories about justice, as well as several definitions of the term. The third chapter constitutes the main body of the work and is further subdivided into two parts, one dealing with moral justice in Nemesis, Curtain: Poirot's Last Case and An Unsuitable Job for a Woman, the other dealing with moral justice in Murder on the Orient Express, Flowers for the Judge and A Clear Conscience. In the conclusion there are given specific examples of the moral justice in the selected works and it is stated that the aims of the thesis were fulfilled.
