Greece on the verge of World War II from the point of view of an American surrealist: H. Miller, Colossus of Maroussi.
Abstract:
V této bakalářské práci se zabývám cestopisem amerického autora Henryho Millera: Kolos z Maroussi. Zaměřuji se na historický kontext Řecka před 2. světovou válkou a autorův subjektivní pohled na danou zemi. Knihu také srovnávám s cestopisem Lawrence Durrella: Setkání s mořskou Venuší.
Abstract:
In this bachelor thesis I deal with a travelogue by an American author Henry Miller: Colossus of Maroussi. I focus on the historical context of Greece before World War II and author's subjective opinion about the country. I compare also the book with a travelogue by Lawrence Durrell: Reflections on a Marine Venus.
