Woman as Symbol in Works by the Painter Salvador Dalí

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se věnuje zobrazení ženy v díle malíře Salvadora Dalího a také zkoumá jeho vztah k ženám. Skrze tyto informace práce popisuje a vysvětluje, proč a jak Dalí ženy ve svém díle zobrazuje. Práce dále porovnává Dalího vyobrazení ženy s vyobrazením ženy v díle Maxe Ernsta. Z důkladného průzkumu dostupné literatury a po porovnání všech děl bylo zjištěno, že hlavním společným jmenovatelem je umělcova manželka Gala Dalí. Galin vliv je cítit v každém jeho díle. Byla jeho celoživotní múzou a láskou a výtvarníkovým záměrem bylo zajistit jí skrze svou tvorbu nesmrtelnost.

Abstract:

This bachelor's thesis deals with the image of woman in the work of the painter Salvador Dali. Thesis further examines his relationship with women and through this information the work explains and describes why and how Dali depicts women in his work. The work also contains a comparison of Dali's depiction of a woman with the depiction of a woman in the work of Max Ernst. A thorough examination of the available literature and a comparison of all the works revealed that the main common denominator was the artist's wife Gala. She was his lifelong muse and love. Gala's influence is felt in every one of his works, and the artist's intention is to make her immortal through his work.
