The Development of MZK after 1989

Abstract:

Diplomová práce je zaměřena na vývoj Moravské zemské knihovny (dále jen MZK) po roce 1989. Práce bude rozčleněna na teoretickou a praktickou část. Teoretická část bude obsahovat definici základních pojmů, bude nastíněn systém veřejných knihoven ČR, popsány veřejné knihovny zřizované Ministerstvem kultury ČR a jejich legislativní ukotvení. Dále bude v této části práce nastíněn stručný vývoj veřejných knihoven před rokem 1989 a vývoj veřejných knihoven po roce 1989. V praktické, a současně stěžejní, části práce, bude stručně popsán vývoj MZK před rokem 1989, především však bude tato část práce věnována vývoji této instituce po roce 1989. Vývoj MZK zde bude popsán z několika hledisek, pozornost bude dále zaměřena na fungování MZK v nové budově, bude nastíněna její regionální funkce v souvislosti s ostatními knihovnami Jihomoravského kraje a bude provedena stručná komparace s Národní knihovnou ČR. Cílem celé práce je zmapování porevolučního vývoje této významné instituce na poli českého knihovnictví.

Abstract:

The thesis is focused on the development of the Moravian Library after 1989. The thesis will be divided into theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part will contain the definition of basic terms, the system of public libraries of the Czech Republic will be outlined, public libraries established by the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic will be described and also legislation related with them. Furthermore, a brief development of public libraries before 1989 and the development of public libraries after 1989 will be outlined in this part of the thesis. institutions after 1989. The development of MZK will be described from several points of view, the focus will be on the work of MZK in the new building, its regional function in relation to other libraries of the South Moravian Region will be outlined and a brief comparison with the National Library of the Czech Republic will be made. The aim of the thesis is to map the post-revolutionary development of this important institution in the field of Czech librarianship.
