Motivations for alcohol use among university students

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá motivy užívání alkoholu u vysokoškolských studentů. V teoretické části jsou popsány motivační modely, motivy užívání alkoholu a jejich souvislosti s negativními následky a s osobnostními rysy. Popsána je i cílová skupina vysokoškolských studentů, jejich specifika vysokoškolského života a užívání alkoholu. Ve výzkumné části jsou zjišťovány nejčastější motivy užívání alkoholu, u kterých se zjišťují rozdíly ve volbě motivů v rámci pohlaví a věku. Zkoumány jsou i vztahy mezi motivy a množstvím a konzumací alkoholu. Další zkoumané vztahy jsou mezi motivy a osobnostními faktory. Zjištěné údaje by mohly pomoci s prevencí u této specifické skupiny konzumentů.

Abstract:

Theme of this bachelor thesis is motives of alcohol usage among university students. Theoretical part describes motivational models, motives of using alcohol and their connection to negative consequences and personal characters. There is also described a targeted group of university students and specifics of their students life and alcohol usage. Research part of the thesis is looking into most frequent motives of alcohol usage while considering differences in motives based on gender and age. Relation between motives, quantity and alcohol consummation and being also examined. Other examined relations are between motives and personal factors. Results of the research could help with prevention within this specific group of consumers.
