The importance of glass museums for tourism in the Liberec region

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zaobírá problematikou regionálních muzeí a jejich vlivem na rozvoj turismu v rámci vybraného kraje. Konkrétně se práce zaměřuje na liberecký kraj a dvě regionální muzea, která se zde nacházejí – Muzeum skla a bižuterie v Jablonci nad Nisou a Sklárna a minipivovar Novosad a syn v Harrachově. Cílem práce je zhodnotit současné postavení regionálních muzeí v cestovním ruchu České republiky, ale také odhadnout jejich potenciál na rozvoj cestovního ruchu do budoucna. V teoretické části je prostor věnován vymezení základních pojmů týkající se problematiky muzejnictví a je zde také podrobně vysvětlen význam sklářství pro Českou republiku. V rámci praktické části byla následně pomocí zvolených metod provedena důkladná analýza a komparace obou vybraných muzeí a bylo zhodnoceno jejich postavení v rámci turistického ruchu Libereckého kraje. Mezi použité metody patří dotazníkové šetření a rozhovory s odborníky z praxe.

Abstract:

This bachelor’s thesis aims to discuss the issue of regional museums and their influence on the development of tourism within the selected region. Specifically, the thesis focuses on the Liberec region and the two regional museums located there - the Museum of Glass and Bijoux in Jablonec nad Nisou and the Novosad a syn glass factory and microbrewery in Harrachov. The main aim of the thesis is to evaluate the current position of regional museums in the tourism industry of the Czech Republic, but also to estimate their potential for the development of tourism in the future. The theoretical part is devoted to defining basic terms related to the issue of museum work, and the importance of glassmaking for the Czech Republic is also explained. Within the practical part, a thorough analysis and comparison of the two selected museums was carried out using the chosen methods, and their position within the tourist industry of the Liberec region was evaluated. The methods used include questionnaire survey and interviews with experts in the field.
