Valuation of assets at the balance sheet date with the application of the historical cost model in the Czech Republic

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce pojednává o oceňování aktiv k rozvahovému dni při aplikaci modelu historické ceny v ČR. První část práce je věnována teoretickému zasvěcení do problematiky. V práci jsou popsány účetní principy a zásady, kterými se účetní jednotky musí řídit, dále způsoby oceňování, proces inventarizace a nástroje zásady opatrnosti, které upravují výši ocenění aktiv. Vše je proloženo praktickými ukázkami prostřednictvím příkladů. V druhé části práce je analýza účetních závěrek vybraných společností, kde je ukázáno reálné využívání těchto nástrojů v praxi.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with the valuation of assets at the balance sheet date with the application of the historical cost model in the Czech Republic. The first part of the work is devoted to theoretical initiation into the issue. The thesis describes the accounting principles that accounting entities must follow, methods of valuation, the inventory process, and tools of principle of prudence that regulate the asset valuation. Everything is complemented by practical examples. The second part of the work is an analysis of financial statements of selected companies, which shows the real use of these tools in practice.
