Abstract:

Tato práce využívá SWOT analýzu (silné stránky, slabé stránky, příležitosti a hrozby). zkoumat vyhlídky a výzvy k dosažení cílů udržitelného rozvoje (SDGs) v subsaharské oblasti se zaměřením na Ghanu a Nigérii. Tyto země představují dvě různé, ale významné ekonomiky v regionu a jejich zkušenosti vrhají světlo na širší kontext implementace SDG. Analýza začíná identifikací silných stránek Ghany a Nigérie ve vztahu k SDG úspěch. Obě země mají bohaté přírodní zdroje, včetně ropy, nerostů a orná půda, která poskytuje potenciální základ pro hospodářský růst a udržitelnost rozvoj. Kromě toho dosáhli pokroku v určitých oblastech udržitelného rozvoje, jako je přístup k nim vzdělávání, zdravotní služby a obnovitelná energie. Analýza však také odhaluje slabiny a výzvy, které brání dosažení udržitelného rozvoje implementace. Ghana a Nigérie čelí společným problémům, jako je vysoká míra chudoby, nerovnost a nedostatečná infrastruktura, které představují významné překážky dosažení několik SDGs. Mezi další slabiny patří korupce, politická nestabilita a slabost správní struktury, které mohou bránit účinnému provádění a koordinaci politik. SWOT analýza dále zkoumá příležitosti pro pokrok SDG v Ghaně a Nigérie. Obě země mají rostoucí populaci mládeže, která může sloužit jako a demografická dividenda, pokud je správně využita prostřednictvím vzdělávání, rozvoje dovedností a zaměstnání stvoření. Ekonomická diverzifikace, investice do udržitelných průmyslových odvětví a potenciál pro regionální spolupráce nabízí další příležitosti k prosazování cílů udržitelného rozvoje. Zkoumáním SWOT faktorů v kontextu Ghany a Nigérie si tato práce klade za cíl poskytnout poznatky a doporučení pro dosažení cílů udržitelného rozvoje v širší subsaharské oblasti kraj. Zdůrazňuje potřebu komplexních politických rámců, lepšího řízení, a posílená koordinace mezi zúčastněnými stranami s cílem řešit zjištěné slabé stránky a hrozby. Využití silných stránek, jako jsou přírodní zdroje a potenciál mládeže využití příležitostí pro udržitelný hospodářský růst a regionální spolupráci, může pomoci dosáhnout pokroku směrem k SDGs. Na závěr tato práce nabízí podrobnou analýzu vyhlídek a výzev dosažení cílů udržitelného rozvoje v subsaharské oblasti se zaměřením na Ghanu a Nigérii. Podle při použití rámce SWOT poskytuje tvůrcům politik, odborníkům z praxe a zainteresovaným stranám s cennými poznatky, které mohou být podkladem pro rozhodování, formulování politiky a intervencemůže urychlit udržitelný rozvoj v regionu.

Abstract:

This thesis employs a SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats) analysis to examine the prospects and challenges of achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in the Sub-Saharan region, focusing on Ghana and Nigeria. These countries represent two diverse but significant economies in the region, and their experiences shed light on the broader context of SDG implementation. The analysis begins by identifying the strengths of Ghana and Nigeria in relation to SDG achievement. Both countries possess abundant natural resources, including oil, minerals, and arable land, providing a potential foundation for economic growth and sustainable development. Additionally, they have made progress in certain SDG areas, such as access to education, health services, and renewable energy. However, the analysis also reveals the weaknesses and challenges that hinder SDG implementation. Ghana and Nigeria face common issues such as high levels of poverty, inequality, and inadequate infrastructure, which pose significant obstacles to achieving several SDGs. Other weaknesses include corruption, political instability, and weak governance structures, which can impede effective policy implementation and coordination. The SWOT analysis further examines the opportunities for SDG progress in Ghana and Nigeria. Both countries possess a growing youth population, which can serve as a demographic dividend if properly harnessed through education, skills development, and job creation. Economic diversification, investment in sustainable industries, and the potential for regional collaboration offers additional opportunities for advancing the SDGs. By examining the SWOT factors within the context of Ghana and Nigeria, this thesis aims to provide insights and recommendations for achieving the SDGs in the broader Sub-Saharan region. It emphasizes the need for comprehensive policy frameworks, improved governance, and enhanced coordination among stakeholders to address the identified weaknesses and threats. Leveraging strengths, such as natural resources and youth potential, while capitalizing on opportunities for sustainable economic growth and regional cooperation, can help drive progress towards the SDGs. In conclusion, this thesis offers a nuanced analysis of the prospects and challenges of achieving the SDGs in the Sub-Saharan region, with a focus on Ghana and Nigeria. By applying the SWOT framework, it provides policymakers, practitioners, and stakeholders with valuable insights to inform decision-making, policy formulation, and interventions that can accelerate sustainable development in the region.
