Tato práce se zabývá studiem jazykových rozdílů mezi dvěma generacemi mluvčích v románu Charlese Webba Absolvent z roku 1963. Cílem bylo zjistit, zda se jazykové prostředky generace vysokoškolských studentů liší od těch, které používá generace jejich rodičů. This thesis studies language differences between two generations of speakers, more specifically college students and their parents, in The Graduate – a 1963 novel written by Charles Webb. The first aim was to investigate which category of lexical stance markers, namely exclamations and expletives, or degree modifiers, each of the generations preferred.
