Bakteriální toxiny jsou proteiny, které mohou buď zhoršit průběh bakteriálních infekcí, či přímo vyvolat různá onemocnění, z nichž nejznámnější jsou toxikózy, průjmy, epidermolýzy a syndrom toxického šoku. Bacterial protein toxins are able to worsen bacterial infections or cause various diseases, of which the well-known are toxicosis, diarrhoea, epidermolysis and toxic shock syndrome. Apart from standard microbiological and molecular-biological methods, by which are identified bacteria producing toxins, the presence of toxins in the sample can be proven.
