Impacts of legislation prohibiting diskrimination between men and women on insurance products

Abstract:

V předložené diplomové práci se zabývám dopadem zákazu diskriminace na základě pohlaví v životním pojištění, které v České republice začalo platit na sklonu roku 2012. První část práce je teoretická a zaměřuje se na základní popis regulace a tvorby produktů v životním pojištění, dále se věnuje problematice stanovení rizikových sazeb a nové právní úpravě včetně rozboru rozhodnutí soudního dvora EU. Druhá praktická část obsahuje modelové kalkulace pojištění před a po zavedení regulace a analýzu dopadů změn z pohledu pojišťoven, jejich klientů jako i celého pojistného trhu.

Abstract:

In present thesis I deal with the impacts of legislation prohibiting gender discrimination in life insurance, which came into force at the end of the year 2012. The first part of the thesis is theoretical and it focuses on basic description of regulation and making of the products in life insurance, further it describes the issue of risk rates setting, and new legislation including analysis of judgment of the European Court of Justice. The second practical part includes modelled calculations of the insurance before and after the regulation, and the analysis of impacts of the changes from the perspective of insurance companies, their clients and also the whole insurance industry.
