Evaluation of the development of fir-beech forest in the non-state forest reservation Ščúrnica in the White Carpathians with the help of the forest dynamics simulator SIBYLA

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá dynamikou vývoje jedlobukového porostu v nestátní lesní rezervaci Ščúrnica. Trvalá výzkumná plocha tohoto porostu byla založena v roce 2009 a od té doby byla průběžně zkoumána. Narozdíl od dosavadních výzkumů, které se věnovaly spíše pozorování současného stavu, je tato práce zaměřena na predikci budoucího vývoje tohoto porostu, a to na příštích 50 let. K tomuto účelu byl použit počítačový program SIBYLA. Zkoumání proběhlo na dvou výzkumných plochách. První, severní výzkumná plocha je částí již zmíněné trvalé výzkumné plochy. Druhá, jižní výzkumná plocha byla založena autorem v roce 2019 jižně od severní, taktéž ve Ščúrnici. Na severní výzkumné ploše byl zkoumán pouze přirozený vývoj porostu, na ploše jižní byl zkoumán přirozený vývoj porostu a byly zde taky porovnávány dva způsoby přírodě blízkého hospodaření.V SIBYLE bylo postupně vytvořeno pět simulací, z nichž dvě se věnují první výzkumné ploše a tři druhé výzkumné ploše. U simulace 1 se jedná o přirozený vývoj severní výzkumné plochy s tlakem zvěře 80 %. U simulace 2 je to obdobné, avšak tlak zvěře je pouze 20 %. Zkoumáno je zde především přirozené zmlazení jedle, které bylo paradoxně mocnější (o 10 jedinců na ha) při vyšším tlaku zvěře.Další simulace se již zabývají jižní výzkumnou plochou. V simulaci 3 jde opět o přirozený vývoj bez zásahu člověka za tlaku zvěře 80 %. Simulace 4 využívá metody cílových tloušťek k vytvoření strukturně bohatého lesa a simulace 5 zase reprezentuje čtyřfázovou clonnou seč.U severní výzkumné plochy došlo k nárůstu biomasy o 46 % (114 203 kg/ha) a k nárůstu uhlíku o 46,5 % (60 063 t/ha). Také zde podle výsledků pravděpodobně dojde k ústupu jedle, avšak v příštích 50 letech to nebude ještě citelné. U jižní výzkumné plochy bylo v simulacích zjištěno, že z hlediska množství zásob i sortimentní skladby je strukturně bohatý les hospodářsky výhodnější.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis deals with the dynamics of fir-beech development in the non-state forest reserve Ščúrnica. The permanent research area of this crop was established in 2009 and has been continuously investigated since then. Unlike previous research, which focused more on observation of the current state, this work is focused on predicting the future development of this growth, for the next 50 years. The computer program SIBYLA was used for this purpose. The research was carried out on two research plots. The first, northern research area is part of the aforementioned permanent research area. The second, southern research area was established by the author in 2019 south of the northern one, also in Ščúrnica. In the northern research area, only the natural development of the vegetation was examined, in the southern research area, the natural development of the vegetation was examined and two ways of close-to-nature management were compared.Five simulations were gradually created in SIBYLE, two of which are devoted to the first research area and three to the second research area. Simulation 1 is a natural development of the northern research area with deer pressure of 80%. Simulation 2 is similar, but game pressure is only 20%. In particular, the natural rejuvenation of fir, which was paradoxically more powerful (by 10 individuals per ha) at higher deer pressure, is examined.Other simulations already deal with the southern research area. In simulation 3, it is again a natural development without human intervention under deer pressure 80%. Simulation 4 uses target thickness methods to create a structurally rich forest, and Simulation 5 represents a four-phase aperture cut.In the northern research area, biomass increased by 46% (114 203 kg/ha) and carbon increased by 46.5% (60 063 kg/ha). Here, too, the firs are likely to recede, but it will not be felt in the next 50 years.In the southern research area it was found out in the simulations that in terms of quantity of stocks and assortment composition, a structurally rich forest is more economically advantageous.
