The development of selected indicators of socio-economic statistics in the countries of the European Union after their entry into the euro area

Abstract:

Projekt společné evropské měny euro je vedle schengenského systému jedním z nejvýznamnějších úspěchů evropské integrace. Sociální a hospodářská politika patří ke klíčovým oblastem jednotlivých národních ekonomik i Evropské unie jako celku. Hlavním cílem této bakalářské práce je popsat vývoj vybraných sociálních a hospodářských indikátorů zemí, které přijaly euro za svou oficiální měnu. Konkrétně se jedná o 11 států, které přijaly euro jako první v roce 1999. K tomu je využito základní analýzy časových řad, zejména měr dynamiky a dále také indexní a grafické analýzy. Dále je v práci stručně popsána historie projektu společné evropské měny, metodologie a společná unijní strategie týkající se vybraných indikátorů, a metody analýzy časových řad, které byly v práci použity.

Abstract:

The project of the common European currency Euro is besides Schengen system one of the most important successes of the European integration. Social and economic policy represent key areas of the individual national economies and European Union as a whole. The main aim of this bachelor thesis is to describe the development of chosen social and economic indicators of countries accepting Euro as their official currency. Specifically, there are 11 countries, which chose Euro as the first in 1999. Basic time series analysis is used to achieve the main aim, particularly rates of dynamics, index and graphic analysis. This thesis also contains the description of history of the common European currency project, methodology and common union strategy regarding chosen indicators and methods of time series analysis used in this thesis.
