Psychotherapeutic Work with Children who Experience the Loss of a Loved One

Abstract:

Diplomová práce „Psychoterapeutická práce s dětmi, kterým zemřela blízká osoba“ se zabývá psychoterapeutickými přístupy k tématice zármutku a vyrovnání se se smrtí. Diplomová práce si klade otázku: Co vnímají terapeuti jako přínosné při práci s dítětem prožívající zármutek? Teoretická část se zabývá postavením smrti v současné kultuře, vnímání smrti dětmi vzhledem k jejich věku a rozumové úrovni, procesu truchlení, terapeutické práci a terapeutickým technikám, které se v zahraničí při práci se zármutkem používají. Praktická část byla realizovaná formou kvalitativního výzkumu, kterého se zúčastnilo pět terapeutů. Výsledky byly analyzovány pomocí interpretativní fenomenologické analýzy. Výsledková část dokládá teoretická fakta příklady z praxe a podporuje některá teoretická stanoviska při práci se zármutkem. V analýze výsledků data shrnuji a v závěru se pokouším odpovědět na výzkumnou otázku. Práce může být inspirací pro psychologické a psychoterapeutické odborníky pracující s dětmi, které ztratily blízkého člověka.

Abstract:

Thesis "Psychotherapeutic work with children who died a close person" deals with psychotherapeutic approaches to the topic of grief and coping with death. This thesis asks: What therapists perceive as beneficial when working with a child experiencing grief? The theoretical part deals with the role of death in contemporary culture, the children perception of death due to their age and intellectual level, the process of mourning, therapeutic work and therapeutic techniques that are used abroad at work with grief. The practical part was realized as qualitative research, which was attended by five therapists. The results were analyzed using interpretative phenomenological analysis. Results part illustrates theoretical facts by practice examples and supports some of the theoretical views when working with grief. In the analysis of results I summarize the data and in the end I am trying to answer the research question. The work can be an inspiration for psychological and psychotherapeutic professionals working with children who have lost a close person.
