The Impact of Macroeconomic Environment on the Financial Situation of Companies

Abstract:

Cílem disertační práce je vyhodnotit vliv makroekonomického prostředí definovaného fundamentálními makroekonomickými faktory na finanční situaci podniků, zejména pak na riziko finanční tísně, v zemích V4. Pro naplnění cíle práce slouží bankrotní modely, jako vhodné nástroje pro vyhodnocení finanční situace podniků. Dále také metody korelační a regresní analýzy, jež zachycují vzájemný vztah mezi sledovanými proměnnými. Na základě zjištěných výsledků se jeví jako vhodné aplikovat v zemích V4 bankrotní modely Altmanova Z´´EM Score a IN05. Zároveň nejsilnější dopad na finanční situaci podniků měly ve sledovaném období 2005-2016 zejména vybrané ukazatele HDP a cenové hladiny. Naopak nejslabší dopad na finanční situaci podniků měl ukazatel nezaměstnanosti.

Abstract:

The aim of the thesis is to evaluate the impact of macroeconomic environment defined by fundamental macroeconomic factors on the financial situation of a company, with the focus on the risk of financial distress and bankruptcy in the Visegrad Group. Bankruptcy models serve as a suitable tool for evaluating the financial situation of enterprises. Furthermore, methods of correlation and regression analysis capture the relationship between the observed variables. Based on the results, it seems appropriate to apply the bankruptcy models Altman's Z´´EM Score and IN05 in the V4 countries. Indicators of GDP and price levels had the strongest impact on the financial situation of copmanies during the observed period 2005 - 2016. On the contrary, the unemployment rate had the weakest impact on the financial situation of companies.
