Miroslav Houra: The Life and Work

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce si klade za cíl popsat a zhodnotit ţivot a dílo Miroslava Houry. Jedná se o umělce, který působil ve druhé polovině 20. Století. Do značné míry byla jeho díla poznamenána dobou, ve které ţil. Z toho důvodu je v práci zmíněno období v severočeském kraji v druhé polovině 20. Století a období normalizace, které mělo na všechny umělce značný vliv, coţ se také projevilo na jeho největším díle, kterým byla největší mozaika v Evropě o velikosti 400 m2. Na mozaice bylo po dobu vlády KSČ umístěno socialistické heslo, které bylo později vyměněno za domeček, který ztělesňuje symbol rodiny. Miroslav Houra patří mezi významné umělce, kteří se zabývali grafikou a později architekturou. Práce bude systematicky rozdělena do pěti kapitol, přičemţ poslední kapitola bude pojednávat o zajímavých názorech na Houru od jeho přítel, kolegů a odborníků. Miroslav Houra se řadí mezi významné osobnosti Ústeckého kraje a na to bychom měli upozorňovat.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis aims to describe and evaluate the life and work of Miroslav Houra. He is an artist who worked in the second half of the 20th Century. To a large extent, his works were marked by the time he lived in. That is why the period in the North Bohemian region in the second half of the 20th Century and the period of normalization, which had a great impact on all artists, was also mentioned in the work, as reflected in its largest work, the largest mosaic in Europe of 400 m2. During the reign of the Communist Party, a socialist passport was placed on the mosaic, which was later replaced by a house that embodies the symbol of the family. Miroslav Houra is one of the most prominent artists in the field of graphic design and architecture. The work will be systematically divided into five chapters, with the last chapter discussing interesting views on Houro from his friend, colleagues and experts. Miroslav Houra is one of the most important personalities of the Ústí region and we should draw attention to this.
