Relation between teacher self-efficacy and burn out syndrome among teachers in primary education

Abstract:

Magisterská diplomová práce se zabývá souvislostí mezi učitelskou self-efficacy a syndromem vyhoření u učitelů základních škol v České republice. Teoretická část práce se věnuje vymezení učitelské profese, konceptu učitelské self-efficacy, syndromu vyhoření u učitelů a dosavadním poznatkům o souvislosti definovaných konceptů. Empirická část práce se věnuje metodologii kvantitativního šetření a následné analýze a interpretaci získaných dat. Hlavním cílem této práce bylo prozkoumat a popsat souvislost konceptu self-efficacy a syndromu vyhoření u učitelů základních škol v České republice. Dílčím cílem práce bylo prozkoumat míru obou zkoumaných konceptů v závislosti na vybraných charakteristikách. Dalším z dílčích cílů bylo přinést poznatky o tom, jaké stresory učitelé vnímají na začátku školního roku jako závažné a jaké stresory obecně ve své profesi považují za nejzávažnější.

Abstract:

The master's thesis deals with the relationship between teacher self-efficacy and burn-out syndrome among primary school teachers in the Czech Republic. The theoretical part of the thesis is devoted to the definition of the teaching profession, the concept of teacher self-efficacy, burnout syndrome in teachers and the existing knowledge about the connection of the defined concepts. The empirical part of the thesis is devoted to the methodology of quantitative questionnaire research and data analysis and its interpretation. The main aim of this thesis was to investigate and describe the relationship between the concept of self-efficacy and burnout syndrome among primary school teachers in the Czech Republic. A partial aim of the thesis was to examine the dependence of both concepts in relation to selected characteristics. Another partial aim was to provide insights into which stressors teachers consider important at the beginning of the school year and which stressors they generally consider most important in their profession.
