Contemporary Czech Glass Design

Abstract:

Design skla a sklářská výroba má na našem území dlouhou a silnou tradici. A i když si české sklářství prošlo ve svém vývoji obdobím nejedné krize, řadu z nich úspěšně překonalo. Na příkladech skláren v Květné, Vizovicích, Lindavě vidíme, že budoucnost českého ručně foukaného skla je postavena spíše na menších provozech, které úzce spolupracují s designéry, kteří dávají českému sklu osobitý charakter, který mu zajišťuje úspěch a uznání, jak u odborné veřejnosti, tak u běžného spotřebitele.

Abstract:

Glass design and glass manufacture has got a long-term and strong tradition here in our territory. Even if the Czech glass manufacture went through a few crisses during its development, many of them were succesfully cleared away. We can see on the examples of glass works in Květná, Vizovice, Lindava that the future of Czech hand-blown glass is mostly based on smaller runnings, which are co-operating closely with designers, who are giving an individual character to the Czech glass. This their individual character is providing a succes and an appreciation both to a professional public and a common user.
