A New Beginning: A Comparative Study of Migration and Integration of Foreigners from Post-Soviet Countries in The Hradec Králové Region

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se věnuje komparaci migračních a integračních procesů cizinců z postsovětských zemí. Teoretická část se zaměřuje na migraci cizinců z postsovětských zemí do ČR a přímo do Královehradeckého kraje. Dále teoretická část představí integrační procesy a nejčastější problémy, se kterými se cizinec během integračního procesů setkává. Cílem práce je, na základě zjištěných informací, porovnat dané procesy a zjistit, zdali mají dopad na život konkrétních jedinců. Výzkum byl proveden prostřednictvím kvalitativních metod, byla využit metoda polostrukturovaných rozhovorů, autobiografická metoda a metoda účelového výběru, snowball. Rozhovory byly zaznamenány zvukovými nahrávkami. Součástí práce je audiovizuální výstup popisující život ruské rodiny - jejich migraci a následnou integraci do majoritní společnosti. Sběr dat proběhl od listopadu roku 2022 do března roku 2023.

Abstract:

The bachelor's thesis is devoted to the comparison of migration and integration processes of foreigners from post-Soviet countries. The theoretical part focuses on the migration of foreigners from post-Soviet countries to the Czech Republic and directly to the Králové Hradec region. It will present the integration processes and the most common problems that a foreigner encounters during the integration processes. The main goal of the work is to compare the given processes based on the found informations and find out whether they have an impact on the lives of specific foreigners. The research was made out using qualitative methods: the method of semi-structured interviews, the autobiographical method and the focus group method. The interviews were audio-recorded. Part of the work is an audiovisual output describing the life of a Russian family - their migration and integration into czech society. Data collection took place from November 2022 to March 2023.
