West Nile fever

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce je zaměřena na problematiku spojenou s virem západonilské horečky, jejím historickým pozadím i aktuálním rozšířením po světě. Dále se zabývá taxonomickým rozřazením, genové struktuře a patogenezí viru. Jsou zde popsány klinické formy onemocnění, léčba a prevence. Práce je literární rešerše a zdroji pro tuto práci byly odborné články, knihy a webové stránky oficiálních organizací. Cílem této práce je souhrn informací o problematice a samotném onemocnění způsobené virem západonilské horečky.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis is focused on the problematics of the virus causing so called West Nile fever. Mainly, it aims to cast light on its historical background and its current spread around the world. Furthermore, it characterizes its taxonomic classification, gene structure and the virus pathogenesis while also describing the clinical forms of the disease, its treatment and prevention. This thesis is a literature review of existing knowledge on the topic collected from academic journals, books and the official websites of health organisations. The goal of this thesis is to summarize available information on the given problematics and the disease caused by the West Nile virus itself.
