The Role of mTOR Pathway in Cell Injury
Abstract:
Práce je věnována proteinu mTOR a jeho signální dráze, jež ovlivňuje buněčný růst, proliferaci a buněčné přežití. Protein mTOR je v dnešní době hlavním terapeutickým cílem, neboť se jeho inhibice jeví jako potenciální lék mnoha nádorových a neurodegenerativních onemocnění. Vědci se zabývají vývojem nových účinných inhibitorů, které by do budoucna mohly být velkým přínosem v medicíně.Abstract:
This bachelor thesis deals with the mTOR protein and its signaling pathway, which affects cell growth, proliferation and cell survival. The mTOR protein is now a major therapeutic target, as its inhibition appears to be a potential cure for many types of cancers and neurodegenerative diseases.
