Regulation and Expression of Emotions of Students of Social Pedagogy at FHS TBU in Zlín

Abstract:

Regulace a exprese emocí sociálních pedagogů je důležitou součástí jejich práce ve vztahu k poskytování pomoci, motivace, podpory i služeb klientům. Účelem tohoto výzkumu bylo odhalit míru regulace a exprese emocí budoucích sociálních pedagogů, včetně vzájemného vztahu mezi zmíněnými dvěma proměnnými. Taktéž nás zajímalo, zda existují statisticky významné rozdíly v míře regulace emocí mezi studenty sociální pedagogiky prezenčního a kombinovaného studia a jestli dochází k odlišné míře exprese emocí u těchto studentů v souvislosti s věkem, pohlavím, délkou praxe a formou studia. Byly shromážděny údaje od studentů sociální pedagogiky na FHS UTB ve Zlíně (n = 317), s předpokladem nalezení konvergentních výsledků. Naše zjištění ukázalo uspokojivou míru regulace emocí respondentů, avšak ne až tak uspokojivou míru v rámci exprese emocí. Dalším zajímavým zjištěním byla stejnorodost a různorodost výsledků napříč pohlavím, výkonem odborné praxe, formou studia a věkem.

Abstract:

Emotion regulation and their expression of social pedagogues is an important part of their work in relation to providing help, motivation, support and services to clients. The aim of this research was to reveal the degree of emotion regulation and expression of future social pedagogues, including the relationship between the two variables. We would like to know, if statistically significant differences existed in the degree of emotion regulation and expression between students of social pedagogy of a full-time and part-time study programme and how different is the degree emotion in these students in relationship in relation to age, gender, length of practice and form of study. Data were collected from students of social pedagogy at FHS TBU in Zlín (n = 317), assuming that convergent results are found. Our findings showed a satisfactory degree of regulation of respondents' emotions, but not so satisfactory in terms of emotion expression. Another interesting finding is the homogenity and heterogenity of results across gender, professional practice, form of study and age.
