Implementation of an end-to-end analytical solution in the Microsoft Fabric environment

Abstract:

Hlavním cílem této práce je navrhnout a implementovat end-to-end analytické řešení pro podporu strategického řízení vybrané konzultační společnosti. Řešení je zasazeno do domény Strategie a vyvíjeno na unifikované analytické platformě Microsft Fabric. Práce se nejprve věnuje důkladnému porozumění a analýze business požadavků jejichž součástí je i porozumění doménové oblasti spolu s motivací zadavatele s výsledným definováním akceptačních kritérií. Následná analýza a sběr technických požadavků vyplývajících z datově architektonické vize společnosti představují klíčové podklady pro návrh a implementaci analytického řešení. Platforma Microsoft Fabric, medailonová architektura a doménově orientovaná architektura tvoří základní pilíře celého řešení. Klíčové komponenty řešení jsou v práci detailně popsány a jejich použití opodstatněno. Primárním výstupem je standardizovaný a automatizovaný reporting v Power BI, který má pevnou datovou základnu na platformě Microsoft Fabric zajišťující zpracování, uložení, orchestraci a celkovou správu dat. Analytické řešení umožňuje primárně efektivnější řízení strategického rozhodování a plánování spolu s monitoringem datové kvality v dané doméně.

Abstract:

The main goal of this thesis is to design and implement an end-to-end analytical solution to support strategic management for a selected consulting firm. The solution is embedded within the Strategy domain and developed on the unified Microsoft Fabric analytical platform. The thesis initially focuses on a thorough understanding and analysis of business requirements, including domain knowledge and the client's motivation, culminating in the definition of acceptance criteria. Subsequent analysis and collection of technical requirements stemming from the company's data architectural vision provide key inputs for the design and implementation of the analytical solution. The Microsoft Fabric platform, medallion architecture, and domain-oriented architecture form the foundational pillars of the entire solution. Key components of the solution are detailed in the thesis and their usage justified. The primary output is standardized and automated reporting in Power BI, based on a solid data foundation on the Microsoft Fabric platform, ensuring data processing, storage, orchestration, and overall management. The analytical solution primarily enables more efficient strategic decision-making and planning, along with monitoring data quality in the given domain.
