Abstract:

Diplomová práce rozebírá postupy literární montáže v románu Alfreda Döblina Berlín, Alexandrovo náměstí (1929) a jejich adaptaci do filmových a televizních děl. Konkrétně rozebírá užití literárně-montážních principů v celovečerním filmu Berlín, Alexandrovo náměstí (1931) režiséra Phila Jutziho, následně v seriálové adaptaci Rainere Wernera Fassbindera (1980) a na závěr v aktualizované adaptaci režiséra Burhana Quarbaniho (2020). Na základě analýzy individuálních autorských přístupů a vždy jedinečných adaptačních klíčů ke stejnému románu se má práce snaží popsat, jak jednotliví režiséři k adaptaci literární montáže přistoupili a kde nacházeli inovativní postupy možné jen v rámci audiovizuálního média

Abstract:

The master's thesis analyses the techniques of literary montage in Alfred Döblin's novel Berlin, Alexanderplatz (1929) and the way they have been adapted to film and television. Specifically, it analyses the use of literary montage principles in the feature film Berlin, Alexanderplatz (1931) directed by Phil Jutzi, then in the television adaptation of Rainer Werner Fassbinder (1980), and finally in the updated adaptation directed by Burhan Quarbani (2020). By analyzing individual auteur approaches and unique adaptation keys to the same novel, my thesis seeks to describe how individual directors approached the adaptation of a literary montage and where they found innovative approaches only possible within the audiovisual medium
