Animal welfare in the garment industry - the proposal of ethical certification

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá problematikou welfare zvířat v oděvním průmyslu, zejména pak problematiky kožešinových farem se zvířaty. Práce je rozdělená do dvou částí a to teoretické a praktické. V teoretické části se zaměřuje na bližší popis problematiky kožešinových farem a celkově chovu zvířat pro oděvní průmysl. V praktické části se pak zabývá zkoumáním problematiky využívání zvířat v oděvním průmyslu formou komparativní analýzy a dotazníkových šetření. Cílem práce je zjistit a vyhodnotit reálný stav na oděvním trhu a navrhnout řešení problému.

Abstract:

The purpose of this Bachelors thesis is to examine the issue of animal welfare in the industrial branch, specifically focusing on the problematic of animal leather farming. The thesis is divided into two sections, the theoretical section, and the practical section. In the theoretical section, it concentrates on the closer analysis of leather farming and on the overall animal husbandry in the garment industry. The practical section of this thesis focuses on examining the issue of animal utilization in the garment industry using the form of comparative analysis and questionnaire construction. The goal of this thesis is to determine and evaluate the actual conditions in the garment market and to propose a solution to this problem.
