This thesis is concerned with the power relations involving convicts as depicted in four Australian convict narratives, namely Marcus Clarke’s For the Term of His Natural Life, John Lang’s Botany Bay, Richard Flanagan’s Gould’s Book of Fish, and Kate Grenville’s The Secret River.
