USA and "War on Drugs"

Abstract:

Práce se zabývá válkou proti drogám z pohledu domácí i zahraniční politiky Spojených států Amerických. Cílem práce je podat ucelený přehled o protidrogové politice USA, nástrojích protidrogové politiky a možnostech jejich uplatnění v praxi, včetně úspěšnosti jejich uplatňování. Úvodní část se zaměřuje na přehled globálních drog a jejich stručnou historii, vztah obyvatel USA k drogám a úvod do protidrogové politiky. Druhá část práce se zabývá historickým vývojem války proti drogám od 70. let 19. století po současnost. Důraz je kladen na okolnosti vzniku protidrogové politiky a klíčové momenty ve vývoji války proti drogám. Další část práce se zaměřuje na nástroje americké protidrogové politiky, včetně procesu certifikace, uplatňované v zahraniční politice USA. Závěr práce obsahuje analýzu války proti drogám v Kolumbii, Mexiku a Afghánistánů, protože tyto země jsou prioritní na seznamu protidrogových iniciativ USA.

Abstract:

This work deals with the war on drugs in terms of domestic and foreign policy in the United States of America. The aim of the work is to provide a comprehensive overview of U.S. drug policy, drug policy instruments and possibilities of their practical application, including the success of their application. Introductory section focuses on the global list of drugs and thein brief history, the relationship of the U.S. population to drugs and an introduction to drug policy. The second part deals with the historical development of the war on drugs since of the 19 century to the present. Emphasis is placed on the circumstances in which drug policy and the key moments in the development of the war against drugs. Another part focuses on the tools of American drug policy, including the certification process, applied in U.S. foreign policy. The conclusion contains an analysis of the war against drug in Colombia, Mexico and Afghanistan, as these countries are a priority in the list of U.S. anti-drug initiatives.
